Pi-hole: The Gateway to Self-Hosting

If you have never self-hosted anything before, Pi-hole is the perfect place to start. It installs in minutes, runs on almost any hardware, and produces an immediately visible improvement: ads, trackers, and malware domains disappear from every device on your network simultaneously.

What Pi-hole Does

Pi-hole acts as your network's DNS server. When any device on your network tries to contact a known ad server, tracking domain, or malware host, Pi-hole blocks the request before it leaves your network. The result: faster page loads, less bandwidth consumption, and fewer trackers profiling your business activity.

Unlike browser-based ad blockers that only work on one device and one browser, Pi-hole blocks at the network level. Every phone, laptop, smart TV, and IoT device on your office network gets protection automatically.

Common Objections

Will it break legitimate sites? Sometimes. But Pi-hole's interface makes whitelisting easy. Found a site that breaks? Check the query log, identify the blocked domain, add it to the allowlist. The false positive rate is extremely low, and the control is entirely yours.
