About Apache Guacamole
Apache Guacamole is a clientless remote desktop gateway that supports standard protocols like VNC, RDP, SSH, Telnet, and Kubernetes. Because it is clientless, you can access your desktops and servers from any device with a web browser -- no plugins, no agents, no client software needed.
Guacamole consists of a Java-based proxy server (guacd) that handles the remote protocol translation, and a web application that provides the browser interface. It supports LDAP, SAML, OIDC, TOTP, and database-backed authentication, session recording, file transfer via SFTP, clipboard integration, and connection sharing.
Guacamole is an Apache Software Foundation project, licensed under Apache 2.0. It is widely used by enterprises, government agencies, and MSPs for secure, auditable remote access to internal infrastructure.
