About Euro-Office
Euro-Office is an open-source, self-hostable online office suite for real-time collaborative editing of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs. It is a community-driven fork of the ONLYOFFICE Document Server codebase, initiated by a coalition of European companies including Nextcloud, Proton, IONOS, OpenProject, XWiki, and others to provide a transparent, sovereign alternative.
Euro-Office supports DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, ODT, ODS, ODP, PDF, TXT, and other common file formats. It is designed to integrate with platforms like Nextcloud, OpenProject, and XWiki rather than operating as a standalone application. The project maintains full AGPLv3 licensing and an open governance structure.
Deploy via Docker or native packages for Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. The DocumentServer is the core component, handling all rendering, editing, and collaboration logic. Real-time co-editing works via WebSocket. Euro-Office is actively developed with regular community releases and full build-from-source support.
